Your personal information will be properly safeguarded in accordance with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). By registering as a user of the services provided by Book Attic and by using the Book Attic website generally you are agree to this use.

We only collect personal information which is necessary for its purpose, for example the information you provide when making an order. Data we collect includes:

We share this information with Wix, our online store hosting provider, so that they can provide website services to us. As you go through checkout, this site may auto complete your shipping and billing address by sharing what you type with the Google places API and returning suggestions to you to improve your checkout experience.

Where we've collected your data in relation to an account sign up, the information we process will be based on the legitimate interest we have in administering that account to enable you to safely access your order history and the personal details your've provided us with.

Where data has been collected in relation to an order, it will be processed by necessity of entering into a contract whereby the payment you provide requires us to fulfil your order request in, which case we will only collect data which is necessary to fulfil and deliver your order.

You can give consent to be sent marketing material in the form of email newsletters via our website or during visits to our stands at book fairs. This requires contact information such as name and email address to be retained by us for this purpose. If you have indicated that you'd like to be contacted for direct marketing purposes we rely solely on your consent. We review consent frequently and seek to refresh consent periodically as we see appropriate.

Data collected in line with your marketing preferences, like name and address will only be used to personalise your communications, including sending you content which we think is relevant to your location.

Your information is securely stored. We store date using minimisation techniques to ensure we only keep what is necessary to process your order for the minimum amount of time it is required.

Data collected for the purpose of fulfilling an order will be stored for 5 years, after which it will be securely destroyed by Book Attic.

Data collected for marketing purposes will be stored for 5 years from the date of the last interaction with our marketing programme, after which it will be securely destroyed.

We not store your payment information, we regularly review the data we hold and erase what is no longer needed for the original intended purpose or for legal obligations.
